how do i figure how much load is being used on an industrial emergency generator?

- You have to measure the output. An ammeter will tell you the current at the time you measure. Multiply by the voltage, and multiply by the square root of 3 if it is three phase. If the load varies, you need a recording meter. More detail would help.
- If you have not assigned a definite load for the emergency generator, Install an ammeter, voltmeter and kwmeter in its control panel.
