Argon gas is ONLY obtained from liquefied air through fractional distillation: big scale stuff.It is delivered in pressurised gas cylinders;or, in tonnage quantities as liquid argon.As for generators I think you mean liquifaction plant;it is a by-product of oxygen/nitogen plant..In UK L'air Liquide UK company( amonst others) supply liquid argon for large users who have properly installed cryogenic storage,argon boils at about -170c.as far as I can remember.
