How is possible for diesel generator to have a volt range 110 to 220 and what mechanism makes this possible?

I want to purchase a second hand single phase diesel generator for resell, this genset works 110/220 volts. As there is difference between these voltage, I want to know how this is possible and what mechanism makes it possible and how I can use of 110 volts same time as 220 volts

1. It supplies either 110 OR 220 volts, not voltages between the two. You switch select one of the two voltages. .
2. You need more information on the generator to have a definitive answer. But my guess would be that the generator winding is rated 220v and has a center tap at 110v.
